WHAT IS
YUNTAKU

Yuntaku is the world’s first Japanese Amaro merging the Japanese taste and the Italian tradition.

Its recipe is inspired by the culture oftaste of the Okinawa island - best knownas Japan’s paradise - and executedfollowing the ancient Italian tradition ofthe typical digestive amaro.

In Okinawan dialect, “YUNTAKU” means “chatting”, and it’s actually a word that in the past, at the end of a meal, izakayas’ guests used to scream at once to kick off the alcoholic drinking.

The idea of creating a Japanese digestive spirit stems from the need to end an Asiatic meal with a digestive liqueur that actually marries western tastes, in order to provide a completely new yet consistent pairing experience.

BEHIND THE
PRODUCTION

Amaro Yuntaku is produced in small batches in one of the most historic Italian distilleries, infusing  GOYA, also known as bitter melon, together with known as bitter melon, together with owers including Sichuan pepper, ginger, sour cherry blossoms and Jasmine tea, directly imported from Japan.

Each step of the production is 100% handcrafted by artisans, ensuring the highest quality and respect for the ancient methods of production of the typical Italian digestive liqueur.

THE MAIN INGREDIENT
GOYA

The main ingredient of the liqueur, as well as the bittering base, is Okinawan famous the GOYA: also known as "bitter melon” and recognized as a multifaceted  superfood, the sought-after vegetable is a staple in the diet of Okinawa.

When Yuntaku’s founders travelled to the Island and discovered the GOYA, they straight away realized it would have been the perfect main ingredient of a surprisingly new spirit.

Thanks to its powerful antioxidant and anti-inammatory properties, Goya extract is used as a real medicine there, helping to make the island's population one of the longest-lived in the world.

Yuntaku is a one-of-a-kind amaro, with a surprisingly delicate taste characterized by a strong scent and strong bittering notes.

Ideal in any combination, it is perfect for refreshing and cleansing the palate after a meal, especially if based on raw fish.

It was born to be proposed straight and served cold, while lending itself to being an excellent ingredient for the creation of cocktails, both aperitifs and long drinks.
